Shaping Tomorrow’s Spaces
Architecture is a journey – one that begins with vision, creativity, and meticulous planning. Here’s a look at the projects currently in development, where concepts take shape and ideas transform into future spaces.
Dar Es Salaam Office Block
Project started: October 2024
Designed as a six-story workspace, this office block blends urban functionality with nature. Set on a leafy street, its design embraces biophilic principles, ensuring greenery is visible from every office – enhancing productivity and well-being.
A preserved tree at the entrance anchors the design, while floating planted balconies soften the facade. Deep overhangs provide shade from the Dar es Salaam heat, and expansive glazing maximises sea views. The result? A modern office environment that breathes with nature rather than shutting it out.
Pizza Pavilion
Project started: November 2024
At the Dar es Salaam Yacht Club, the Beach Banda was reimagined into a dynamic entertainment hub. The design respects the past, retaining original stone columns while introducing a seamless blend of old and new.
Now with two levels, the space maximises capacity while offering uninterrupted coastal views. Open and airy, it invites guests to gather, dine, and celebrate – blurring the lines between inside and out.
Mafia Island Boutique Lodge
Project started: Jan 2025
The use of thatch roofing and carefully broken-up forms ensures the lodge feels intimate, never imposing. With expansive openings framing ocean views, it’s a place to retreat, reconnect, and embrace the rhythm of the coast.
House Jacques Kallis (Val de Vie)
Project started: March 2023
Designed for legendary ex-cricketer Jacques Kallis and his family, this home in Val de Vie balances privacy with open-plan living.
The layout wraps around a north-facing courtyard, filling the house with natural light. The ground floor is all about entertainment, while upstairs, five bedrooms provide a private retreat. A pool, firepit, and landscaped lawn create a space equally suited to family life and social gatherings.
House Neethling
Project started: February 2024
A home with deep family roots, built on land passed down through generations in Kenton-on-Sea.
The design replaces an old structure while keeping the site’s history alive. A Boerboon tree, planted by the owner’s grandfather, is at the heart of the layout, with spaces positioned to frame and celebrate it. A floating pavilion at the front captures sweeping river views, while the kitchen acts as a central link between past and present.
House Rousseau (Val de Vie)
Project started: February 2024
Built for a young family moving from Johannesburg, this Val de Vie home is designed for easy, practical living.
The U-shaped layout creates a private, sunlit courtyard at its core. Open-plan spaces flow seamlessly into the outdoors, making it a home that feels both secure and welcoming.
House Smithers
Project started: march 2023
A modern holiday home in Kenton-on-Sea, shaped around ocean views and relaxed coastal living.
The entrance opens to an elevated space before leading down to the main living areas, where sunsets steal the show. A rim-flow pool extends the horizon, and a rooftop terrace provides the perfect spot for evening drinks. Designed for both privacy and entertaining, it’s a home that makes the most of its setting.
Lalibela Game Reserve
Project started: March 2024
A complete rework of the arrival area at Lalibela Game Reserve, transforming it into a warm and welcoming space.
The old building was dark and closed off, so a central oculus now floods the space with natural light. Around it, a curated display tells the reserve’s conservation story. The space also includes a reception, deli, restaurant, and a flexible theatre for conferences and events, creating a vibrant hub for guests.
Mixed-Use Beach Development
Project started: march 2021
A three-storey coastal development designed to capture both ocean and forest views.
The ground-floor courtyard is a flexible space, used for summer celebrations and elegant weddings year-round. The top-floor accommodation ensures all rooms have spectacular views, with a design that balances natural textures and modern finishes.
Mixed-Use Commercial Building
Project started: June 2023
A mixed-use development designed to blend residential and commercial spaces seamlessly.
Shops, restaurants, and delis activate the ground level, while upper floors provide stylish urban living. A pedestrian-friendly layout keeps the space open and welcoming, with terraces and varied textures adding visual interest along the streetscape.
Sabini Na Mbili
Project started: December 2023
A riverfront retreat designed for a family from East Africa, merging two existing buildings into one seamless home.
Large glass openings capture the river views, while natural tones and textures keep the space warm and inviting. The kitchen is the heart of the home, designed for a family that loves to cook and gather.
Wedding Barn
Project started: March 2022
An old farm barn reimagined as a wedding and event venue.
The redesign keeps its rustic charm while introducing softer textures and flexible spaces. Whether hosting a small gathering or a large celebration, the venue adapts effortlessly, offering a timeless, welcoming setting.
