About the project
Designed as a shared coastal retreat, House Von Broembsen brings two families together under one roof while embracing the natural beauty of Kenton-on-Sea.
~ Chris Hattingh, Director Fluid Architects
The existing structure, fragmented and multi-leveled, made way for a thoughtfully reimagined home.
The new design introduces a seamless single-level entry from the street, unfolding into a striking double-volume façade overlooking the river. The upper level is dedicated to the heart of the home—an expansive living space flanked by two mirrored master suites. Below, four children’s bedrooms spill out from a central lounge and TV room, ensuring a perfect balance of privacy and connection.
Built for celebration, this home is as much about togetherness as it is about the view. A sheltered north-facing courtyard creates a protected sanctuary from the elements while linking effortlessly to the interior spaces, making indoor-outdoor living a year-round experience.
